pulled pork sliders!!


Slow Cooker (Brown Sugar BBQ) Pulled Pork Sliders:
Tangy BBQ sauce and soft shredded meat star in this delicious football treat


Ingredients

5 lb pork shoulder
1 fresh onion and 1 green pepper (slice and mince)
2 Table spoons dried minced onion sprinkles
1 tsp onion powder
2 Table paprika
1 ½ tsp chili powder
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp garlic salt
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp all spice
1 ½ tsp salt
½ cup water
¾ cup apple cider vinegar
Juice of 2 limes
½ cup scallions (slice, mince)
½ cup packed dark brown sugar
2 ½ c BBQ brown sugar sauce (Sweet Baby Ray’s)

1. Mix together all of the dry ingredients salt, pepper, brown sugar, all spice, garlic powder, garlic salt, chili powder, paprika, onion powder, dried minced onion sprinkles. Then rub most of the mixture on the pork (save a small portion of the mix to sprinkle on bottom of the slow cooker).

2. Scatter some of the dry ingredient mix on bottom of slow cooker as well as half the minced onions and half the minced green peppers on bottom of slow cooker. Place the pork on top of this. Then scatter the second half of onion and peppers on top of the pork shoulder. Slowly pour ½ cup of the BBQ sauce over the pork, as well as the lime juice and ½ cup water.

3. Slow cook for 6 hours then remove the pork and place on a cutting board to shred meat using two forks. Add remaining two cups BBQ sauce and continue to cook for 2 more hours. Occasionally stir.


To serve: place meat on slider bun/ cibatta roll/ dinner roll/ or Bertucci’s rolls with pickles.
